The MAX14870 from Maxim Integrated is a tiny H-bridge motor driver IC that allows bidirectional control of one brushed DC motor within a voltage range of 4.5V to 36V. It can handle continuous currents of up to 1.7A and peak currents of 2.5A, making it suitable for various small motor applications.

Our breakout board simplifies the use of the MAX14870, especially for students and hobbyists, by providing compatibility with standard solderless breadboards and 0.1 perf boards. The board comes populated with SMD components, including the MAX14870 and a reverse battery protection circuit.

The MAX14870 Single Brushed DC Motor Driver Carrier is designed to offer easy integration with a single brushed DC motor, featuring a straightforward two-pin speed/direction interface and built-in protection against reverse voltage, under-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature conditions.
